Women's Volleyball Opens 2026 At Colgate Volleyball Classic

The Princeton University women's volleyball team will open the 2026 season at the Colgate Volleyball Classic in Hamilton, New York, at Cotterell Court with matches against Villanova, Arizona State and Colgate.

Championship Tradition
The Tigers won their 21st Ivy League title in program history in 2025, finishing Ivy play with a 11-3 record. Princeton's 21 Ivy titles are the most of any Ivy program.

Head Coach Sabrina King
King is in her 15th season as head coach at Princeton. She has guided the Tigers to seven Ivy League titles, four NCAA Tournament appearances and has been named Ivy Coach of the Year three times. Throughout her tenure as head coach, King has coached six Ivy League Players of the Year and 52 All-Ivy honorees. A member of the Class of 2001 at Princeton, she won three Ivy titles as a player, was the 1999 Ivy Player of the Year and was a three-time All-Ivy selection.

The Returners
The Tigers return seniors Sydney Bold, Ava Harrington, 2025 Ivy League Player of the Year Sydney Draper, and 2025 Second Team All-Ivy League Erin McNair, juniors Sylvia Bunde, Jackie Onyechi, Ashley Duckworth, and Ashtyn Sims, and sophomores Olivia Foye, Taylor Clarke, Lia Skufca, Shelby Burriss and Sarah Hom.

The Newcomers
The Tigers welcomed first years Natalie Surges and Allison Tredwell ahead of the 2026 season.

Draper as the Difference Maker
The 2023 Rookie of the Year and 2025 Ivy League Player of the Year is sixth in the Princeton record books for Most Assists in a Career (2696).

Stellar Season For Shelby
Burriss was the Ivy league Rookie of the Week twice last season. In her first season, she ranked eighth in the Ivy League in hitting percentage (.342), seventh in blocks (56) and tenth in blocks-per-set (0.78) as well as fourth on the team in kills (129).

Back and Better
Sylvia Bunde, Taylor Clarke, and Olivia Foye missed parts of the 2025 due to injury. They are back to full strength for 2026.

Scouting Villanova
The Wildcats are 2-1 in 2026. They won 3-1 (23-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-16) against Sacramento State and 3-2 (25-21, 20-25, 28-30, 25-20, 15-9) against South Dakota State. They were picked as the No.2 Big East team in the conference's coaches poll.

Scouting Arizona State
No. 7 Arizona State sits at 2-1 so far this season. The Sun Devils beat No. 2 Texas 3-1 (25-17, 25-17, 19-25, 25-18) and No.14 Minnesota 3-0 (26-24, 25-17, 25-23). In the 2026 Big 12 Volleyball Preseason Poll, Arizona State was voted preseason No.1 team by the coaches in the conference.

Scouting Colgate
The hosts are currently 1-2 this season. Heading into their tournament, the Raiders are coming off their first 2026 win against Morehead State, 3-2 (25-14, 23-25, 20-25, 25-23, 15-9). Last season, Colgate went 18-10 overall and 13-3 in the Patriot League.
