Sophomore Eric Robinson added to the lead with an empty-net goal at 19:42 after Yale put on the extra skater with 56.5 seconds left. Robinson beat Mitch Witek in a footrace and to the end wall and popped in the easy goal to ice the game.
This is Princeton’s first sweep of Yale and Brown on the road since the 2007-08 season, and is the first time since the 2010-11 season that the Tigers won three straight league games.
The Tigers got things started, scoring 10 seconds apart in the first period to take a 2-0 lead.
Junior Garrett Skrbich scores his second goal of the weekend, he scored the game winner in last night’s 4-2 win at Brown. misplayed the puck behind his net, not sensing the hard forecheck that would be delivered by the Tigers. The defender had no chance at the puck as Siiro got it along the extended red and slotted it for Skrbich’s second tally of the season. Watch it here

An interception by sophomore Joe Grabowski inside the neutral zone led to the 2-0 Princeton lead. Grabowski found Spencer Kryzcka at the top of the left circle as the Tigers buried the 2x1 opportunity with a five-hole goal on Spano.
Phinney kept the clean sheet on the other end with 13 saves in the first period and 14 in the second.
Princeton started the third period on the power play as 1:46 remained after a boarding call on John Hayden. After Joe Snively was called for a cross check, Princeton had 38 seconds of a two-man advantage. Junior Ben Foster and Robinson both had great bids but couldn’t get one past Spano. With the advantage cut 5x4 it was Robinson and Foster again with chances.
With the penalty complete, Yale got an odd-man rush but Chris Izmirlian was denied by junior Colton Phinney for the second time. Izmirlian was thwarted by Phinney with less than two minutes to play in the second after a turnover inside the blue line. Another big save by Phinney came midway through the third when he denied Andrew Gaus’ breakaway.
Just after Princeton won the puck in the corner, a Tiger tried to clear it down the ice, but the puck deflected off of a stick. It was gloved down by Anthony Walsh and he shot through traffic from the right point to put Yale on the board at 9:14.
Hayden tied the game with a power-play goal at 11:20. Rob O’Gara sent cross-ice pass to Snively. He dropped it off to Hayden at the top of the right circle and fired through traffic to make it a 2-2 game.
Princeton was 0 for 4 on the power play, while Yale was 1 for 4.
Spano, who played in place of Alex Lyon who was injured during warmups, finished the game with 27 saves.
Phinney made 37 stops for the Tigers who are now 4-8 overall and 3-5 in the ECAC.
Princeton will travel to Penn State for the first time next Friday night for a 7 p.m., game with the Nittany Lyons. The team then returns home to host the USA Under-18 Team in an exhibition match on Saturday at 7 p.m., at Hobey Baker Rink.
