IN HER OWN WORDS….
I became an academic-athletic fellow because I am deeply invested in undergraduate education, and I believe student-athletes bring special gifts to our Princeton community. They work so hard to combine excellent academic performances and demanding athletic commitments. Very publicly, they represent us as a University with a great deal of honor. They manage their time so exquisitely. They embody values we hold high. I advocate on behalf of our student-athletes, especially those on the Football team, because I care about them as individuals and as a team. I meet with them to discuss their paths as undergraduates, and to strategize about their futures. These conversations inspire me. I hope student-athletes see me as a resource and a supporter. As a university, we aspire to be more than a well-informed, intellectually adept community. We all aim to model a way of being in the world that reflects the values that Princeton Athletics promotes — accountability, team, integrity, growth, engagement, and respect. I have been honored to be a part of Princeton Football’s team around the team as a fellow, an especially meaningful role to me because it originated with my friend and colleague Marvin Bressler. Being a fellow is a joy for me.
