Residential Colleges
RESIDENTIAL COLLEGES:
Residential College Deans, Assistant Deans, and Directors of Student Life are Princeton’s key resources for student advising. Contact and comprehensive information can be found here:
In the residential colleges -- Butler, Forbes, Mathey, Rockefeller (Rocky), Whitman, New College West and Yeh -- each has a Dean, Director of Studies, and Director of Student Life to provide academic guidance and promote student wellness.
The Dean oversees academic affairs and student life for the entire residential college community. The dean stays informed about all student concerns, and formally approves course extensions for student illness or family emergencies and arranges tutoring and study skills consultations. The Dean also advises juniors and seniors.
The Assistant Dean provides academic guidance to all students, but primarily to first years and sophomores. Assistant Deans help with course selection, choice of major, add/drop and pdf questions and academic resources as well as other student concerns.
The Director of Student Life (DSL): The Director of Student Life supports the undergraduate residential experience. The DSL oversees health and wellness issues, and the Residential College Adviser (RCA) program, and coordinates conflict resolution as well as disciplinary matters.
