Katharine Holmes, a 2016 Olympian, is a volunteer assistant coach with the Princeton fencing teams.
Holmes is a four-time All-America who concluded her Princeton career with a runner-up finish to teammate Anna Van Brummen '17 in the épée finals at the NCAA Championships. It was her second NCAA medal along with a third-place finish as a freshman in 2012. Holmes took the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons off from competition at Princeton to pursue an Olympic bid, a goal she realized when she qualified to join the U.S. épée contingent at the Rio Games.
Holmes, who graduated in 2017 with a degree in psychology, was a four-time All-Ivy League honoree and a two-time Academic All-Ivy League honoree during her Princeton career.
