At Princeton — 2018-19 (5-6, 4-1 Ivy): won four matches in Ivy play in the middle of the lineup, including victory over Dartmouth to help Princeton end a four-match skid to the Big Green … had three straight 3-2 wins over Brown, Yale and Penn … picked up win over St. Lawrence. 2017-18 (9-8, 4-3 Ivy): produced a second straight winning record while playing primarily at the 4-5 positions … had key victory at Penn that helped Princeton beat its highest-ranked opponent since 2013; added Ivy wins over Yale, Brown and Cornell … went 2-0 at CSA team championships, including a 3-2 win over Dartmouth. 2016-17 (12-6, 7-0 Ivy): led Princeton in overall and Ivy League wins; became first Princeton player to go 7-0 in the Ivy League since 2015 (Tyler Osborne) … played majority of the season at either No. 3 or No. 4 … played six 3-2 matches during the regular season and won all of them … competed in the Molloy Cup at the CSA Individual Championships and went 1-1 … earned Princeton's only win over Ivy champion Harvard. 2015-16 (3-16, 1-6 Ivy): played in the top third of the lineup and debuted at the No. 1 spot … earned regular season wins over both Williams and Brown … won a match in the CSA Individual Championships (Molloy Cup) … played between 1-3 throughout the season.

Personal — born May 17, 1996 … son of Joseph Cortes and Sarah McVity Cortes … has two older sisters, Cecilia and Casey ’13; Casey was the co-captain on the 2013 Ivy League champion Princeton women’s squash team and won more than 40 matches during her career … Cecilia played squash at Harvard … enjoys music and movies … considering studying English Literature and East Asian Languages.
