Women's Swimming and Diving

- Title:
- Volunteer Assistant Coach
Tiny Randazzo, one of the greatest swimmers in Rutgers history and a former Olympic Trials qualifier, is in her first year with the 2010-11 Princeton women's swimming and diving team as a volunteer assistant coach.
Randazzo has been involved with the sport in New Jersey for more than four decades, including her earliest years swimming under the direction of former Olympic coach Frank Elm with a variety of local clubs. She attended the 1972 Olympic Trials in the 100 meter backstroke and swam for the male programs at both Westfield High School and Rutgers University.
When the Scarlet Knights began a women's swimming and diving team in 1974, Randazzo brought the program instant credibility. She captained the team for three years and helped Rutgers to a trio of undefeated seasons. She was a five-time Eastern AIAW champion and earned All-America honors in five events, including both the 50 and 100 back. Her achievements were recognized by the New Jersey General Assembly in 1977, and she was inducted into the Rutgers Sports Hall of Fame in 1997.
She has coached the sport at both the club and collegiate level, including a brief stint with both the Rutgers men's and women's teams following her graduation. The majority of her coaching experience came with both the Fanwood Scotch-Plains YMCA and the Somerset Hills YMCA; she has been with the latter since 1999.
