Tina VanDerMeiren is in her second season at Princeton as an assistant varsity strength and conditioning coach. At Princeton, she works with the men's basketball, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's soccer, women's tennis, women's volleyball and women's water polo teams.
She came to Princeton after three and a half years at Stony Brook University as the Assistant Director of Speed, Strength and Conditioning. During her time at Stony Brook, she was named Assistant Coach of the Year in 2005. VanDerMeiren was responsible for designing and implementing programs for women’s volleyball, men’s soccer, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, women’s basketball, women’s lacrosse, and softball. She also volunteered her time as the staff advisor for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Cody Walk.
Prior to her full-time positions, VanDerMieren served internships at Michigan State, Princeton, Rutgers and Rider. A 2003 graduate of Rutgers with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, VanDerMieren continued her education with a master’s degree in women’s studies and coaching from Stony Brook University in 2007.
During her undergraduate career as a student-athlete, VanDerMieren was a two-time regional selection in crew while earning a 14th place finish at the 2001 NCAA Championship and four top-three finishes at the Big East Regatta.
