Princeton Advances to Finals of ECAC Women's Tennis Chamnpionship

PRINCETON, N.J. - On the heels of singles wins by Kavitha Krishnamurthy (Fr., Oakville, Ontario), Gailor Large (Jr., Baltimore, Md.), Priya Bhupathi (So., Staten, Island, N.Y.) and Kristi Watson (So., Shawnee Mission, Kan.) the Princeton's women's tennis team beat Harvard 5-4 and advances to tomorrow's final of the ECAC Championship at the Lenz Tennis Center. The win marks the first time the Tigers have beaten Harvard since the spring of 1994.
Krishnamurthy won in straight sets, while Large, Bhupathi and Watson all won in three sets. Princeton got doubles wins from the team of Amanda Hastings-Phillips (Sr., Laguna Beach, Calif.) and Large as well as the team of Bhupathi and Watson.
Tomorrow's final begins at 10 a.m. and pits the Tigers against the Virginia Cavaliers.
