PRINCETON, N.J. - The Princeton men's soccer team is unbeaten in its last six matches, its longest such streak since early 1989, thanks in large part to the play of Jason White (Fr., Maple Glen, Pa.). So far this season, White has six shutouts to his credit, a goals against average of 0.76 and a .808 save percentage. White is now in a tie for third on the team's all-time list for shutouts in a season.
Today's honor stems from his play throughout the past week. White recorded back-to-back shutouts over Fairleigh Dickinson and Villanova and allowed only one goal in a 2-1 defeat of Ivy rival Harvard. He made 10 saves during the week. White has played all but 9:30 of the team's 1,200 minutes this season and has allowed 10 goals.
The Tigers hold a one-game lead over Cornell in the race for the Ivy League. Both teams are 4-1 in the League, but Princeton holds the lead by virtue of its 2-1 win over the Big Red on September 19. The Tigers are 9-3-1 overall and do not play again until they travel to Rutgers to play the 22nd-ranked Scarlet Knights on Saturday, Oct. 30.
