PRINCETON, N.J. - For the third time, more than any other freshman in the Ivy League this season, Jason White (Fr., Maple Glen, Pa.) has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week. White earns this week's honor by way of his shutout of Yale in Princeton's Ivy clinching tie with the Bulldogs. White had three saves in the game, including two in the final minute of regulation. He batted away three consecutive Yale corner kicks in the second overtime to preserve the tie.
White ends the regular season as the League's top keeper in league games. He had a league-low 0.62 GAA and .823 save percentage in seven league contests and gave up only four goals in the seven games. He also had three shutouts in the league.
For the season, White has played all but 54 minutes and is currently tied for the school record for shutouts in a season with eight. As a team, the Tigers have also tied the record for shutouts in a season. Both marks have stood since 1942.
Princeton clinched its first outright Ivy title since 1960 last Saturday with the 0-0 tie against Yale. The Tigers await their seeding with the announcement of the tournament selection coming this evening at 9 p.m.
