PRINCETON, N.J. - The Princeton men's soccer team learned its NCAA fate this evening during the NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament Selection Show. The Tigers will be heading to Charlottesville, Va. to play Virginia in the first round of the tournament to be held on November 21 at a time to be determined. The Tigers and the Cavaliers met in the 1993 national semifinals where Virginia won 3-0.
"It's a great draw and it's going to be exciting to play at Virginia," said Princeton coach Jim Barlow. "No matter who we play, it will be a tough game. It is going to be some exciting soccer."
Princeton enters the tournament with a 12-4-2 record as the Ivy League champion. Virginia enters as one of five teams from the ACC with a 12-8-1 record. The ACC had the most teams ever in one bracket, while the Ivy League was one of four conferences to send three teams to the postseason. Brown and Yale also received bids for the Ivy League.
