BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - Joe Clarke (Fr., Atlanta, Ga.) was one of two wrestlers from Princeton University that competed in the championship finals of last weekend's Bloomsburg Invitational. Both Clarke and Scott Pasquini (Jr., Pittsburgh, Pa.) had solid days to lead the Tigers to sixth place in the eight-team field.
Clarke reached the finals of the 141-pound weight class before falling to Millersville's Josh Miller 11-2. Pasquini lost to Cassidy Shults of Bloomsburg, a nationally ranked wrestler, 7-4.
"The improvement continued as the young guys keep getting better and improving all the while," coach Michael New said. "It takes real determination, and we're not physical enough to pull through in these one-day tournaments. We're coming around. It's taking us a little while, but we did a nice job."
Two wrestlers, Greg Parker (165) and Brian Foran (197), took fourth place while five others finished either fifth or sixth. Of the nine wrestlers that competed in either championship matches or wrestleback finals, only Jon Bunt (157) was able to win his last match.
