BETHLEHAM, Pa. - The Princeton University men's soccer team dropped to 0-3 in tough fashion, as Lehigh's Andrew Mittendorf deflected an overtime throw-in for the game-winning goal, giving Lehigh a 1-0 win over the Tigers.
Princeton had its opportunities to win in the overtime session, none better than a shot by Mike Nugent that bounced off one post, rolled through the goal mouth and hit the other post before bouncing out. Since it happened during sudden-death, the goal would have meant the Tigers' first win of the year. They will have to wait until they host Seton Hall on Sept. 23rd for another chance at a victory.
Princeton played without captain Chris Halupka, who has an infected cut on his right ankle, an injury he sustained in the first game of the year.
