PRINCETON, N.J. - Princeton's Class of 1999 were denied in their last chance for a win over Harvard as the Crimson tallied a 1-0 victory for their sixth straight win over the Tigers on Saturday at Lourie-Love Field. The last Tiger win over Harvard came in a 2-1 decision in the 1992 season.
At the 71:14 mark, Ashley Berman found the back of the net for her third goal of the season on a deflection by Emily Shauffer and Naomi Miller for the lone goal in the contest. From just a few yards out, Berman slipped the ball past Princeton keeper Jordan Rettig (So., West Hartford, CT) and the near post.
Princeton's best scoring chance came with 26:32 remaining in the game when Amee Reyes (So., Wheeling, WV) beat Crimson keeper Anne Browning for a shot on an open goal. Harvard's Beth Zotter made a spectacular defensive save to preserve the one goal lead.
The Tigers return to action Saturday, October 31, when they travel to Ivy opponent Columbia. Game time is set for 2:30 pm.
