Princeton, N.J. - Princeton faced a young and skilled Harvard team on Saturday night, but the Tigers would dispatch with the Crimson with relative ease.
Two Princeton freshmen connected on the first goal as Gianfranco Tripicchio fed Marty Shaw, whose shot deflected off a Harvard defensive player by Dan Mejias. The fans were still cheering for Shaw's goal when eighteen seconds later, Matt Striebel scored off of a great feed from Behncke. Striebel's goal served to frustrate and stun the young Crimson team.
Midway through the second half a Harvard back fouled Matt Douglass in the penalty box, which led to a Princeton penalty kick. Matt Behncke sent a laser by a stunned Mejias to score his fifth goal of the season and to complete the scoring in the contest.
Princeton plays at Cornell at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday October 28th.
