Friedman And Benjamin Compete At Penn Classic In Tennis

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Princeton men's tennis team sent two players to Philadelphia on Monday to compete in the Penn Classic.
Junior Nick Benjamin (Princeton Junction, N.J.) won his first match of the day (6-1, 1-6, 6-2) over Temple's Kizashane Pillay. He was then knocked out of second-round play by Harvard's Cliff Nguyen. Nguyen entered the competition as the fourth-seed and posted a (6-2, 6-3) two-set win.
Freshman Daniel Friedman (Gainesville, Fla.) was sent to the consolation bracket after a first round loss to Matt Nielsen from Penn State (5-6 (7), 6-3, 6-3). In the consolation round he gained a bye before falling to George Turner of Harvard (6-3, 6-3).
