Teaneck, N.J. - Princeton ended a three-game losing streak by defeating Farleigh Dickinson 2-1 on Wednesday. After starting 4-0 and ascending to 22nd in the national rankings the Tigers dropped contests against Dartmouth, Rutgers, and Columbia.
Junior co-captain, Greame Rein, sneaked a ball by Vytas Lenkutis in the eighth minute to score his first goal of the year. Matt Striebel recorded his first assist on the season on Rein's goal.
Farleigh Dickinson countered with a goal by Aaron Payne in the 55th minute, which was the result of a great pass by Dircev Hurtado.
The Tigers answer like champions, however, notching the game-winning goal one minute later. Mike Nugent ripped cord for the sixth time this season and Bob Nye tallied an assist. Princeton's goalie, Jason White, only had to make one save in the victory, and the Tigers outshot their opponents from Teaneck by an 18-5 margin. The Tigers play Hartwick this Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at Lourie-Love Field.
