Men's Tennis Advances To ECAC Finals

BOSTON, Mass. - The Princeton men's tennis team advances to the finals of the ECAC Division I Men's Tennis Championships with a 5-2 victory over Brown in the quarterfinals and a 5-2 win over host, Harvard University, in the semis.
Results for the quarterfinal match-up with Brown were announced late Saturday night, as Princeton took the win 5-2. The Tigers swept all but one singles match and won one doubles match to move on to the semis.
In the semifinal match-up with Harvard, Princeton won all but one singles match, but lost two doubles matches and the other was suspended.
If Princeton wins the championship tomorrow, Monday, Oct. 9th, they will gain an automatic berth to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Seattle, Washington. The tournament is scheduled for February 15th through the 18th.

Chris Drake (6-4, 5-6, (7-5), 6-5 (9-7), John Portlock def. Jamie Cerretani (6-5, 6-5), Alex Walden def. Daniel Friedman (4-6, 6-4, 3-0), Jim Kofol def. Ben Brier (6-3, 6-1).
DOUBLES (vs. Brown in quarterfinals): Malone/Cerretani def. Portlock/Smith (8-3), Drake/Wolfe def. Kliegerman/Williams (8-6), Chasse/Friedman def. Walden/J.R. Argo (8-7).
SINGLES (vs. Harvard in semifinals): Kyle Kliegerman def. Ryan Brown (6-3, 6-3), Judson Williams def. Cliff Nguyen (6-4, 6-4), Trevor Smith def. Mann Riddell (6-3, 6-5), John Portlock def Oli Choo (6-3, 6-3), George Turner def. Hendrik Chasse (6-5, 6-4).
DOUBLES (vs. Harvard in semifinals): Brown/Riddell def. Portlock/Smith (8-7), Turner/Ngyuen def. Chasse/Friedman (8-6).
