Milwaukee, Wis. - - Princeton, who lost 5-4 to No.3-ranked North Dakota in the consolation game of the Badger Showdown on Saturday Dec. 30th, was buoyed by an incredible goaltending performance by Nate Nomeland. Nomeland, a Fargo, N.D. native, made 60 saves in defeat. This incredible performance broke many records at the Badger Hockey Showdown including most saves in a game (60), most saves in a period (27), most saves in the tournament (79), and most shots on goal in one game (65). Unfortunately, Nomeland was credited with the loss, and fell one save short of the all-time Princeton held by Walter K. McDonough 61 saves against RPI in 1985).
Matt Maglione, Scott Prime, Shane Campbell, and Kirk Lamb scored Princeton's goals, and Prime's goal was the first of his career. David Del Monte recorded two assists in the defeat. The Tigers face Bowling Green at Baker Rink on Friday Jan. 5, 2001.
