PRINCETON, N.J. - The Princeton softball team was so excited to start the 2000 Ivy League softball season that it moved opening day up an hour.
Due to a forecast of rain for late tomorrow afternoon, the doubleheader against Brown University has been changed from a 1 p.m. start to a noon start. The Tigers will host the Bears at Class of 1895 Field for the first of a pair of Ivy League doubleheaders this weekend. Yale will come to 1895 Field for a doubleheader on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Princeton, which has 12 Ivy League championships in its illustrious history, has not won the title since 1996. The Tigers finished third last year with an 8-4 record, which included a loss at Brown. The top two teams in the league last season, Cornell and Harvard, face off tomorrow afternoon at Cornell.
