Bowling Green Routs Princeton 8-3 in Men's Ice Hockey

Princeton, N.J. - The last time that George Parros scored less than a minute into the game the Tigers lost 6-2 to Rensselaer, and the same thing happened to Princeton tonight against Bowling Green. Freshman Drew Morrison threaded a beautiful pass to Parros to get the Tigers going just 35 seconds into the first period, however, Bowling Green would win the game 8-3. Morrison did record his first collegiate point by tallying an assist on Parros' goal, but that was about the only positive for the Tigers tonight.
Bowling Green's Austin de Luis and Ryan Murphy scored the next two goals to put the Falcons up 2-1, but Princeton's Chris Corrinet would even the score at 18:06 of the first period. Steve Slaton and Dave Bennett recorded the assists on Corrinet's 10th goal of the season. While the teams would head to their respective dressing rooms tied 2-2 at the end of the first period, Bowling Green took complete control of the game from the second period on by scoring six unanswered goals.
"Bowling Green won all of the one-on-one battles tonight, and made us pay for our mistakes," uttered Princeton coach Len Quesnelle after the 8-3 blowout.
Brad Parsons would score his eighth goal of the season with just over three minutes remaining in regulation, but the late goal did not do much to lift the Tigers' psyche after being dispensed with by a scrappy Bowling Green team, who came into the game with a 4-10-4 record.
The Tigers and Falcons meet tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at Baker Rink.
