Heather Deerin Named Ivy League Player of the Year

Princeton, N.J - Heather Deerin (Jr., Livingston, N.J.) was named the Ivy League's Women's Soccer Player of the Year after leading the Tigers to their second consecutive share of the League title. Deerin, who was also named first team All-Ivy for the third time, anchored a Princeton defense that allowed only four goals in Ivy play and nine goals overall. She becomes Princeton's first Player of the Year selection since Dodie Colavecchio shared the award in 1985.
Joining Deerin with first team honors are Tigers, Krista Ariss (Jr., Burlington, Ont.) and Catherine Glenn (Sr., Jacksonville Fla.) Ariss registered five goals and two assists in the regular season including two game-winning tallies. Glenn, who was a backup for three years, stepped into the starting role this season and has allowed only 0.54 goals per game in Ivy plat, and 0.48 overall. Princeton led the League with three first-team selections.
Freshman, Rochelle Willis (Unionville, Ont.) received second-team All-Ivy distinctions. Willis was one of five athletes to start every game this season, scored two goals and tallied four assists. Along with Deerin, Willis has played a vital role on the Tiger defense.
Liz Patrick (Sr., Oakton, Va.) and Janine Willis (Fr., Unionville, Ont.) both received honorable mentions.
