Wrestling Opens Season Going 1-2 at Edinboro Duals

Edinboro, Pa. - Juan Venturi (Sr., Houston, Texas) and Greg Parker (Jr., Clifton Park, N.Y.) each had strong individual showings at the Edinboro Duals as Princeton defeated Eastern Michigan 23-13 and lost to Findlay 22-16 and Edinboro 34-3.
In the match against Findlay, the first match of the day, Princeton opened an early lead with Brian Kirschbaum (So. Livingston, N.J.) and Venturi picking up victories in the 133lbs and 141lbs matches. Albert Pendleton (Sr., Atlanta, Ga.) and Parker also picked up points for Princeton wrestling in the 157lbs and 174lbs-weight class. Findlay battled hard in the heavier weight classes opening up a 19-16 lead when HWT Ray Bond pinned Joe Looke (So., Houston, Texas) at 3:31. Findlay went on to win 22-16.
The Tigers picked up their first victory of the season when the defeated Eastern Michigan 23-13. Jon Bunt (Sr. Pittsburg, Pa.) and Parker each scored technical falls against their opponents in crucial 165lbs and 174lbs-weight class matches. Venturi registered his second victory of the day with a major decision over Eric Fairbanks. Princeton defeated Eastern Michigan 23-13.
In the final contest of the day, the Tigers dropped the match to Edinboro 34-3. Milo Adams (So., Mentor, Ohio) wrestling in the 149lbs weight class was the only Tiger to score points against Edinboro.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, December 1 at 1:00 p.m. when they host Drexel.
