Women's Tennis Team Competes At Prestigious Rolex National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships

Farmers Branch, Texas - Janet Walker (University of Texas) defeated Krishnamurthy (So., Oakville, Ont.) 2-1 (4-6, 6-3, 6-1) in the first round of the Rolex National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships on Thursday morning. The doubles team of Krishnamurthy and freshman Shikha Ubroi (Delray Beach, Fla.) fell in the first round to after winning the first game 7-5, as SMU's tandem of Megan Russell and Chrissie Terrill beat Princeton 5-7, 6-3, 6-4.
Only the 32 finest players in the country are invited to this tournament, which is part of the ITA Grand Slam. Consolation matches in both the doubles and singles have been delayed until Friday, because of numerous delays in the first day of competition.
