Women's Fencing Team Wins Three Matches

Princeton, N.J. - The women's fencing team improved its record to 6-1 overall and 1-0 in the Ivy League by defeating Columbia (15-12), St. John's (18-11) and Rutgers (19-8). Lawrence went 3-0 in the eppe competitions vs. Rutgers and Columbia, and defeated American Olympian Arlene Stevens of St. John's by the score of 5-4. Lawrence's win over Stevens was not the only defeat for the Olympian, as Princeton's Kristiina Hurme defeated her 5-2. Also, Alexa Chew was 3-0 in the women's sabre competition against Columbia.
The Tigers host Vassar, FDU-Teaneck, James Madison and Cornell next Saturday at 10 a.m, and then they fence at Pennsylvania and vs. Temple at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
