Kavitha Krishnamurthy Making Women's Tennis Team Proud at Rolex Tournament

Farmers Branch, Texas - Krishnamurthy defeated Anna Monhartova of Tulane in straight sets (6-4, 6-2) in the first round of the consolation bracket at the Rolex Intercollegiate Tennis Championships. In her quarterfinal match Krishnamurthy defeated Baylor's Jahnavi Parekh 7-6 (3), 4-6, 6-3 to advance to the semifinals of the consolation bracket. Krishnamurthy retired because of injury in the semifinals of the consolation bracket to Martina Nedelkova of Virginia Commonwealth on Saturday.
Krishnamurthy and Shikha Ubroi were defeated in the first round of the consolation doubles bracket by Ashley Hedberg and Jessica Roland 6-4, 6-4.
