Princeton, N.J. - The men's tennis team defeated the Big Green of Dartmouth this afternoon, 6-1 in the first match of this weekend's Ivy League double header. Princeton will host Harvard tomorrow, Saturday April 14, matches are set to begin at noon.
Though the score would indicate an easy day for Princeton, several Tigers face some tough competition. Senior Kyle Kliegerman won a hard fought match against Dartmouth's Jeff Sloves, 7-5,4-6,7-5. Playing in the fifth singles match, Princeton's Tim Kofol defeated Borko Keresgi, 7-6,6-7,10-7. Junior Judson Williams playing in the no. 2 singles spot continued his winning streak, stretching it to 5 matches defeating Neil Bobba 6-0, 6-2.
Princeton moves to 8-7 on the spring season and to a12-7 record, including matches played in the fall. The Tigers, who dropped four straight matches in the mid February to begin the spring season, are currently riding a five match winning streak that started with the victory over Loyola Marymount on March 24. Princeton will battle Harvard tomorrow afternoon, who remain the only other undefeated team in the Ivies, with a record of 3-0. The winner of tomorrow's match will stand in striking distance of the Ivy title. Harvard defeated Penn 5-2 this afternoon.
