Princeton Softball Splits Doubleheader with Yale.

New Haven, Conn. - The Princeton Tigers split this afternoon's doubleheader with Yale, winning the first game 4-1 and losing the second 6-3. The Tigers currently stand at 11-10 on the season, and 2-4 in the Ivy League. Princeton will travel to Providence, R.I. tomorrow afternoon to take on the Bears of Brown. The first game is scheduled to begin at noon.
In the first game, the Tigers scored four runs on 12 hits. The Tigers won the game in the eighth inning. Yale was only able to score one run of Princeton's pitcher, Brie Galicinao who moved to 6-5 on the season with a 0.98 ERA, struck-out seven Bulldog batters. The Tigers did their damage off four doubles in the game and one homerun, that came off the bat of Vicki Siesta who finished the game with two runs batted in and one run scored. Lauren Poniatowski had two doubles in the Tiger victory
Princeton dropped the second game to the Bulldogs, 6-3. Errors plagued the Tigers who committed three. The Tigers were unable to generate much offense scoring three runs off four hits. On the mound for the Tigers was Freshman, Wendy Bingham and Junior Sarah Jane White. Bingham picks up the loss as she allowed six runs on six hits.
Junior Kim Veenstra hit in both of today's matches, which stretches her hitting streak to 10 games.
