Princeton, N.J. - Gailor Large was unanimously selected as first team All-Ivy by the respective coaches of the League, as the official All-Ivy teams were released today. Large, who started her career at Princeton competing in the no. 6 singles spot, finished her career as a senior co-captain playing as the top singles player.
Large went 5-2 against Ivy League opponents this spring and 10-8 including matches played in the fall against non-conference competitors. Perhaps one of the most stunning victories for the Tigers this spring was Large's 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (8) triumph over Martina Nedlekova of VCU in early April. At that time in the season, Nedlekova was the fourth ranked singles player in the nation.
Throughout her career Large was somewhat in the shadows of other Princeton stars, including Kavitha Krishnamurthy. Krishnamurthy was expected to be the no. 1 singles player this season yet due to injury she was unable to compete during most of the season. Large assumed the role as the top singles athlete and using her experience and her talent, she boasted the most wins against league opponents for her team as she battled the league's the top competition.
