Kyle Kliegerman Rakes In All-Ivy Honors

Princeton, N.J. - Klye Kliegerman has been the number one man on the courts at Princeton for the last three seasons. For the second time in two seasons, Kliegerman was named first-team All-Ivy, this season the vote was a unanimous decision amongst the league coaches. Two other Tiger athlete, John Portlock and Judson Williams also received unanimous first team All-Ivy honors.
For the past three years Kliegerman has competed against the top competition of the Ivy League playing in the no. 1 singles spot. Throughout his career Kliegerman has been recognized as outstanding athlete as he earned second team singles honors and first team doubles honors his sophomore season. For his performance his junior, Kliegerman was named first team All-Ivy. This season, Kliegerman's 5-2 record against league opponents and his dedication to Princeton tennis earned him not only a unanimous selection as first-team, he was also unanimously chosen as Senior Player of the Year. Kliegerman has also earned a spot in the NCAA Singles Tournament that is currently being held in Athens, Ga. Joining Kliegerman as a unanimous first team All-Ivy honoree is teammate Judson Williams. Williams, playing in the no. 2 singles position went an undefeated 7-0 against league opponents and ended the season on an eight-match winning streak. Williams will return next season as one of the top competitors in the Ivy League
The doubles team of John Portlock and Kyle Kliegerman received a unanimous selection as first team All-Ivy. The team finished the season with 4-3 record. The team has been recognized as one of the top doubles team in the northeast and received a bid to compete in the NCAA Doubles Tournament. Portlock captained the team along with Kliegerman this season and though he was hampered most of the year by an injury that kept him sidelined for the majority of the singles competitions, he was able to compete in the doubles matches.
