Athens, Ga. - Kyle Kliegerman and John Portlock, the no. 1 doubles team of the Princeton squad, were eliminated from competition in the second round of the 2001 NCAA Division I Championships as they dropped their match to a tough team from Georgia.
Kliegerman and Portlock lost to the no. 2 seeded team of Matais Boeker and Travis Parrott of Georgia, 7-6 (0), 6-2. Despite a strong first set, the Tiger team was unable to rally to defeat the Georgia duo. Kliegerman and Portlock advanced to the second round of the doubles tournament when they defeated Carey and Parsons of Tennessee.
