Seniors honored at hockey banquet

Forwards Kirk Lamb '01 and Shane Campbell '01 were awarded the Blackwell Trophy as Princeton Hockey's most valuable players at the team's annual banquet held on Easter weekend.
In addition Matt Maglione '04 was presented the Hobey Baker Trophy as the team's top first-year player, Ethan Doyle '01 was awarded the Richard F. Vaughan Cup and Peter Zavodny '01 and Campbell were rewarded with the 1941 Championship Trophy for their devotion to the game and inspiration.
Former radio voice of the Tigers Geoff Howell returned as emcee of the annual dinner as Len Quesnelle '88 completed his first season as head coach. He was assisted this season by Jim Ward, Mike Bois '97 and goaltender coach Francois Borbeau. Bois has announced that he will not return next season as he and his family move to the Chicago area. The dinner was a chance for families and fans to honor this year's senior class for its contributions to Princeton Hockey over the past four years. In addition to Capt. Kirk Lamb, Campbell, Chris Corrinet, Doyle, Jason Dillow and Zavodny will graduate this spring.
And as has become tradition, former award winners returned to present award's to this year's winners. Darren Yopyk '00 awarded the Baker Trophy, Craig Fiander '93 presented the Vaughan Cup, Chris Patrick '98 presented the 1941 Trophy and Jim Konte '96 presented the Blackwell Trophy.
Blackwell winners Lamb, of Cold Lake, Alb., and Campbell, of Red Deer, Alb., were offensive leaders throughout the season. Lamb finished the season as the team's leading scorer, recording six goals and 25 assists for 31 points. Lamb had three power-play goals and one game-winning goal this year.
Campbell's 16 goals led the team this season, four coming on the power play. He had one game-winning goal, and had seven assists for 23 points.
Doyle, of Marblehead, Mass., the Vaughan Cup winner, played a key role for the Tigers this winter as a penalty killer as well as his overall inspiring play. Doyle had five goals and nine assists for 14 points.
Zavodny, of Toronto, who shared the 1941 Championship Trophy with Campbell, had one goal for the Tigers this season. A defenseman, Zavodny's goal was a game-winning tally.
Baker Trophy winner Maglione, of Fayetteville, N.Y., had a game-winning goal and a power-play goal among his four goals this season. In addition he contributed five assists. His plus-13 rating led the team this season, three points above David Schneider.
