Tigers Shut Out Big Green In Ivy Opener

Hanover, N.H. - Senior Mike Nugent registered his second two-goal game of the season as Princeton blanked Dartmouth in Hanover, N.H. on Saturday. The Tigers scored three times on six shots en route to a 3-0 win, improving to 3-0-1 on the season.
Nugent scored at the 17:58 mark off a low shot from 18 yards out. Matt Behncke and Adrian Melville each picked up an assist on the play and Princeton led 1-0 going into halftime. Behncke put the Tigers up 2-0 with a penalty kick at 55:48 and Nugent completed the Princeton scoring with a penalty kick of his own at 80:39.
Nugent, who has nine points on the year, scored two goals in the season opener against Monmouth. Behncke, who recorded his second goal of the season, also scored a goal against Monmouth on Sept. 8.
Junior Jason White has now registered a shut out in each of the three Princeton wins. White's only goal-against of the season came in Princeton's 1-1 tie at Rutgers. White finished the game with eight saves in 90 minutes of action.
Princeton returns to Lourie-Love Field next Saturday, Sept. 29 for a 7:30 p.m. match-up against the Columbia Lions.
