Opening Day for Women's Tennis: Princeton Invitational

Kristi Watson and Priya Bhupathi had strong showings for the Tigers at today's Princeton Invitational. The tournament provides a preview of upcoming competitions as such teams as Yale and Cornell have sent athletes to play in today's matches.
Kristi Watson playing in the No. 1 singles position defeated Elizabeth Kaufman of Yale 7-6 (3), 7-5. Priya Bhupathi defeated Laura Leigh Tallent of Cornell 6-2, 6-1 playing in the No. 2 singles match. In a complete match against Cornell, five Tigers defeated their Big Red opponents. Watson, once again playing in the No. 1 singles match defeated Daniella DelPrete 7-6(2), 6-1. Princeton's Jackie Arcario, playing in the No. 2 spot defeated Suzanne Wright 6-1, 6-2.
In the doubles brackets, Princeton failed to advance a team into the second round.
