Heather Deerin Receives All-America Honors from SoccerBuzz.com

Defender Heather Deerin (Jr., Livingston, N.J.) has been named third-team All-America by SoccerBuzz.com, a web publication dedicated exclusively to women's soccer. The teams were decided by voting open to all 278 Division I head coaches and the SoccerBuzz.com staff.
Deerin was also named first-team All-Mid Atlantic by the web publication. Prior to the 2001 NCAA tournament, Deerin was named the 2001 Ivy League Player of the Year. Deerin, who was also named first-team All-Ivy for the third time in her career as she anchored a Princeton defense that allowed only four goals in Ivy play and 11 goals overall. She is Princeton's first Player of the Year selection since Dodie Colavecchio shared the award in 1985.
Krista Ariss (Jr., Burlington, Ont.) was named third-team All-Mid Atlantic while Janine Willis (Fr., Unionville, Ont.) and Rochelle Willis (Fr., Unionville, Ont.) were both named to the regional All-Freshman team. Ariss, who registered five goals and two assists in the regular season including two game-winning tallies, was named first-team All-Ivy prior to the 2001 NCAA tournament. Ariss scored the third goal in the 3-1 victory over Loyola College in the opening round of the tournament.
Princeton finished the season ranked No. 19 in the country by SoccerBuzz.com and No. 23 by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
