West Point, N.Y. - Princeton opened the CSFL portion of their schedule on Friday night with a 29-0 loss at Army. The Tigers played even for the first half, but costly turnovers would be the story of the night as the Black Knights racked up 26 second half points en route to their second win of the year.
After a scoreless first quarter, Army found the scoreboard with a field goal before the half. Down 3-0 in the third, it wouldn't take long for Army to get something going and 13 third-quarter points made the score 16-0 going into the fourth and final stanza. Army put up 13 more points in the fourth and dropped the Tigers to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
Rikki Racela led the Tigers with 29 yards rushing while quarterback Dennis Bakke threw for 54 yards on 5 of 20 passing. Bakke was rushed all night, sacked six times with two interceptions.
The Tigers continue CSFL action next Friday, Oct. 18 with a 7 p.m. home contest versus Cornell. Princeton dropped a 22-12 decision at Cornell to open the season.
