Uberoi and Krishnamurthy Compete at Omni Eastern Regionals

Cambridge, Mass. - Freshman Neha Uberoi (Boca Raton, Fla.) and Kavitha Krishnamurthy (Sr., Oakville, Ont.) competed for the Tigers at the Omni Hotel Eastern Regional tournament. Uberoi battled her way into the quarterfinals and Krishnamurthy advanced to the round of 16. More than 100 athletes from the northeast competed in the tournament.
Uberoi reached the quarterfinals before falling to Susanna Lingman of Harvard 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 . Highlighting the tournament for the Tigers was Uberoi's upset of the No. 1 seed Alice Pirsu of Penn 6-2, 6-4. Earlier in tournament play, Uberoi deafeated Lauren Burch of Virginia.
Krishnamurthy reached the round of sixteen by defeating Kristen James of Virginia, 6-1, 6-0 but fell in the next match to Harvard's Courtney Bergman 6-1, 6-2.
