No. 11 UC San Diego tops Men's Water Polo 9-6

San Diego, Calif. - Despite a three-goal effort by Kevin Foster, Princeton lost to No. 11 UC San Diego 9-6 in its first game of its west coast trip. The Tigers will spend the next several days competing against some of the top teams in the country, including No. 7 UCLA. Princeton is currently ranked 14th in the nation.
Princeton played UC San Diego even through the firs half, closing the first quarter at 2-2 and entering halftime with score level at 4-4. UC San Diego scored one goal in the third quarter to open a 5-4 lead. Two early goals in the forth put UC San Diego up 7-4 as Tritons went on to win 9-6.
Robert Urquhart scored two goals, Derrick Wong had one. "We went 2-9 on man-up opportunities," said head coach Luis Nicolao. " We missed some opportunities to score and UC San Diego was able to score some late goals."
Princeton will face UCLA on Saturday, October 5 at 11:30 a.m.
