Brandon Bochenski and Zach Parise led the fifth-ranked North Dakota Fighting Sioux past Princeton, 5-1 in men's hockey Friday night at Baker Rink. Bochenski tallied four goals and Parise assisted on all five North Dakota goals.
Princeton started strong, scoring the games' first goal just 1:20 into the first period. Neil Stevenson-Moore attempted a wraparound that was stopped, but got his own rebound and shot it past Josh Siembida to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead. North Dakota drew even at 10:16 when Parise set up Bochenski for his first goal of the night. Seven minutes later, Parise set up Quinn Fylling to give the Fighting Sioux a 2-1 lead.
Princeton evened up the score at 11:11 of the second period on an end-to-end rush by Chris Owen. Following a poke-check by Steve Slaton, Chris Owen picked up the puck and then took a wrist shot from the top of the circle that beat Siembida through the five-hole. North Dakota reclaimed the lead late in the second period scoring two late goals. At 18:04 Bochenski scored his second goal of the game and at 19:58, he scored a power-play goal right after a faceoff win by Parise.
Bochenski closed out the scoring at 13:00 of the third period when he beat Nate Nomeland with a wristshot high on the glove side.
The Tigers (0-1-0) visit 11th ranked Providence on Sunday. It will be the first meeting between the schools since the 1998-99 season
