Princeton Freshmen Compete at Big Green Invitational

Over the weekend, three freshman members of the men's tennis team competed at the Big Green Invitational, hosted by Dartmouth. Hans Plukas reached the semifinals of the singles "A" draw while Shannon Morales lost in the final of the "B" draw.
Plukas began his tournament with a three-set win over Dartmouth's Raj Shrestha. He then defeated Harvard's Brandon Chiu in the second-round and earned a three-set win against Kris Goddard of Brown in the quarterfinals. In the semis, Plukas faced Neil Bobba of Dartmouth. After dropping the first set 6-1, he came back to win the second set 6-2, before falling in the third set.
Also competing in the "A" draw was Andrew Lieu, who posted a 1-1 record, defeating Ross Pytko of Boston College in round one and falling in three sets to Dartmouth's Drew Dinkmeyer in the second round. The only Tiger competing in the "B" draw was Morales who went 3-1. He posted straight-set wins over Boston College's Paul Colahan and Neil Tolaney of Yale before earning a three-set win over Rutgers' Tyler Deming in the semifinals. In the final, Morales met Brown's Richard Moss, and despite winning the opening set, dropped the match in three-sets.
In the "A" doubles draw, the team of Plukas and Lieu posted a 1-1 record, winning in the opening round and falling in round two.
