Women Place Third at Indoor Track and Field Heptagonal Championships

Ithaca, N.Y. - The Princeton women finished third at this year's indoor track and field Heptagonal Championships registering 69 points. Cornell, who hosted the meet, captured the team title with 113 points and Harvard placed second with 101 points.
Lauren Simmons, who has been dominate in the 800m run all season, captured the individual title in the 800m with a time of 2:10.51. Earlier this season, Simmons set a new Princeton record in the 800m (2:07.02). She has won every 800m race that she has competed in this season.
The 4x400 team of Leslie Warren, Liz Morse, Chanel Lattimer, and Hasina Outtz finished third with a time of 3:54.15. The 4x800 team of Natalie Deffenbaugh, Randy Buzzell, Caitlin Tormey, and Simmons also finished third with a time of 9:07.80.
Senior Catherine Casey (17:13.77) finished second to Laura O'Neill (17:06.11) of Yale in the 5,000m. Brooke Minor finished second in the high jump clearing 1.70m (5-07.00). Susan Coltman finished second in both the long jump, leaping 5.71 (18:09.00) and the pentathlon with 3641 points. Chelo Canino placed third in the pole vault clearing 3.60m (11-09.75) and Lattimer finished third in the 200m dash with a time of 25.61.
Last year Princeton placed sixth at the meet.
