Three More Tigers Punch Tickets, Beaulieu Sets Program Record As Tigers Close Out NCAA East
May 30, 2026 | Women's Track and Field
LEXINGTON, KY – Three more Tigers punched tickets to the NCAA Championships as the Princeton women's track and field team closed out competition at the NCAA East First Round on Saturday in Lexington.
Adding another event to her schedule in Eugene, long jump qualifier Georgina Scoot won the triple jump on Saturday, clearing a new personal best 13.67m/44-10.25. It will mark the second consecutive year that Scoot will double in the long and triple jump at the NCAA outdoor championships, and her third time competing in the triple jump.
A pair of Tiger sophomores shined in Alysa Carrigan and Layla Giordano, as both punched their first tickets to the NCAA championships.
In the high jump, Carrigan cleared 1.79m/5-10.5 to take eighth and qualify for nationals. In the discus, Giordano also took eighth with a throw of 55.31m/181-5, sending her on to Oregon.
Joining the trio in Eugene will be Thursday's Tiger qualifiers, Alex Kelly (LJ), Tessa Mudd (PV), Shea Greene (Javelin) and Angela McAuslan-Kelly (Hammer).
Falling just one second short of a qualifying spot, senior Pia Beaulieu etched her name in program history anyway as she set a new school record of 9:52.54 in the steeplechase.
Running her first sub-10 race, Beaulieu topped world championships competitor Ashley Higginson and Olympian Lizzie Bird in the program record book to take the fastest time in school history. They are the only three women in Princeton history to run the steeplechase under 10 minutes.
Even more remarkable, it was just Beaulieu's fifth time competing in the event, and she has set a new personal best with each of her performances. A women's soccer player who joined the track squad this spring, Beaulieu will leave the Orange & Black as an Ivy steeplechase champion and a school record holder.
