RALEIGH, N.C. - Princeton, ranked N0. 66 by the Omni Hotels Intercollegiate Tennis Association, suffered a 7-0 setback against North Carolina State in women's tennis action on Sunday afternoon at the Wolfpack Tennis Complex. The loss drops Princeton to 1-3, while the Wolfpack moves to 4-4
NC State took a 1-0 lead by sweeping the three doubles matches. Princeton's Kavitha Krishnamurthy and Kristi Watson dropped a 8-1 decision to Katrina Gildemeister and Kristen Nicholls in the No. 1 doubles match. Stephanie Berg and Alex Kobishyn lost to Jennifer Jassawalla and Myrna Bawono, 8-6, at the No. 2 position, while Mateya McCoy and Jackie Arcario were defeated 8-5 by Loni Worsley and Landis Strader at No. 3 doubles.
The Wolfpack swept all six singles, with five of the wins coming in straight sets. The No. 4 singles match between Arcario and Worsley was knotted 5-5 in the first set when Arcario went down with an injury and retired from the match.
