Johnson, Milam Lead Tigers at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. - Sophomore Greg Johnson (Kansas City, MO) shot a 1-over par 72 Friday to lead the Tiger first team to a first-round 294 on a rainy Friday at Springdale Golf Club in the Princeton Invitational. Senior James Milam (Idaho Falls, Idaho) shot a 2-over par 73. Freshman Creighton Page (Louisville, KY) was one shot behind that with a 3-over 74, junior Cassidy Traub (Long Beach, Calif.) added a 4-over 75, and junior Nat Hoopes (Marion, Mass.) rounded out the Princeton first team with a 7-over 78.
The Tigers' second team ran into wetter conditions and higher scores. Sophomore Jon Nuger (Longmeadow, Mass.) shot a 4-over 75 and freshman David Huestis (Columbus, Ohio) shot a 6-over 77 to lead the squad. Senior Eben Harrell (London, England) added an 11-over 82, junior Brian O'Toole (Belle Mead, N.J.) shot a 12-over 84, and sophomore Chris Connolly finished with a 13-over 85.
The Princeton first team is seven shots off leader Penn State (287) and only two behind second-place William and Mary (292) with 18 holes left to play. The 19-school tournament ends tomorrow.
