Princeton Leads At Northeast Championships

Amherst, Mass. - The Princeton University women's golf team holds an 11-stroke lead over second-place Brown at the 2002 Northeast Championships after shooting a round-one team score of 317. The Tigers lead a field of 15 at Hickory Ridge Golf Club in Amherst, Mass. as they head into Sunday's final round.
Princeton captain Vanessa Redman leads all scorers after day one with a three-over par 77. Freshman Avery Kiser, who medalled at the Ivy League Championships last weekend, is tied for second with a 78 and freshman Meg Nakamura is two strokse back after shooting a first-round score of 80.
Princeton's Esty Dwek is tied for eighth with an 82 and Megan Milam is tied for 17th overall with an 84 on day one. Princeton leads four Ivy League schools in the Top-5 after day one. Brown is in second, followed by Boston College with Harvard in fourth and Dartmouth in fifth with a team total of 345.
Play at the Northeast Championships concludes tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
