Brie Galicinao was named the Ivy League Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season after throwing three complete game shutouts against Villanova, Columbia and Cornell. In 16 innings of Ivy League work, Galicinao allowed only two hits and recorded 19 strikeouts. She received the same honor a week ago from the league. Erin Valocsik was named to the honor roll.
Galicinao has now pitched five consecutive shutouts for the Tigers, six on the season. Her numbers for the week are: 3-0, one save, 0.00 ERA, 25 strikeouts, and seven hits allowing in 23 innings pitched. Her season ERA stands at 1.75.
Valocsik batted seven-for-twelve (.583) against Ivy rivals Columbia and Cornell, scoring four runs. She hit three-for-three against Katie Zunno of Columbia and hit the game-winning homerun against Columbia in the first match of the doubleheader, it just happened to be Valocsik's first career homer. In the 9-1 victory over Cornell, Valocsik once again hit three-for-three at the plate scoring one run and tallying one RBI.
