Open Crew Takes Fourth At EAWRC Sprints

Camden, N.J. - The Princeton women's crew teams raced in a cross headwind on Cooper River in Camden, N.J. today. The lightweight's came away with victories in both the Varsity and Novice Eight boats and placed second in the Varsity Four. Princeton's open crew placed fourth in the Varsity Eight and finished first in the Novice Eight.
The Tigers won the lightweight Varsity Eight in a time of 7:00.30, ahead of Wisconsin (7:02.10) and Harvard (7:12.50). The Tigers and Badgers took the top two spots in each of the lightweight races with Wisconsin winning the Varsity Four in 8:05.10 and Princeton winning the Novice Eight in 7:25.50.
The open crew took fourth behind Brown (6:21.10), Yale (6:25.10) and Harvard (6:27.10). The Tigers crossed the line in 6:28.90. Princeton's second varsity placed fifth and its third varsity took second. The Tigers won the Novice Eight in 6:50.10 and finished as runner up in the second novice race.
Princeton won the Willing Point Trophy for most points overall with all crews garnering at least 12 points. The Tigers finished with 71 total points on the day, beating our Brown, which had 65 and Virginia, which had 64.
The Princeton men race at the EARC Sprints next weekend. Those races will take place next Sunday, May 19 in Worcester, Mass.
