No. 5 Women's Open Rowing Has Two Boats Advance NCAA Grand Finals

The first varsity began the day going wire-to-wire in its heat, taking home a time of 6:02.8, ahead of Yale (6:04.1) and Rutgers (6:07.3), the other two boats that advanced to the A/B Semifinals.

Princeton's second varsity took a slight lead at the 1,000m mark and then held off Washington (6:08.5) and Michigan (6:08.8) with a 6:07.3.
The 2V will also race for gold after taking second (6:14.85) in its semifinal!

The Tigers' varsity four comfortably made its semifinal, collecting third place at 6:58.1, over eight seconds ahead of Ohio State in fourth. Washington (6:50.96) and Virginia (6:53.6) were the top two in the heat.
Princeton's varsity four places third at 6:58.15 behind Washington and Virginia and will race in its A/B Semifinal at either 5:24 or 5:32 pm.

The NCAA moved the semifinals for each boat to Friday afternoon due to the threat of weather on Saturday.
Princeton's 1V led at the 500m mark, but crossed the line just behind Tennessee (6:04.1) and Virgina (6:05.5) at 6:05.6. The Tigers held off charges from California (6:07.1) and Washington (6:07.2) to advance to the Grand Final at 10:24 a.m. on Sunday.
The 1V will race for gold on Sunday after collecting a third-place finish in its semifinal at 6:05.68 behind Tennessee (6:04.1) and UVA (6:05.57).

The 2V corralled second place in its semifinal with a 6:14.8, behind Stanford (6:07.2) and in front of Yale (6:15.9). That boat's Grand Final is Sunday at 10:00 a.m.

Princeton's varsity four rowed to fifth place in its semifinal (7:03.1) and race in its Petite Final at 9:24 am on Sunday.
Head coach Lori Dauphiny's 1V has collected two bronze medals in the past four seasons while the 2V has not finished lower than fifth since 2021.
