No. 7 Women's Open Rowing Has Impressive Saturday at Ivy Championships

PENNSAUKEN – All of the No. 7 Princeton Women's Open Rowing Team's boats qualified for their respective Grand Finals at the Ivy League Rowing Championships on Saturday on the Cooper River.
The Tigers' 3V placed third in its heat (06:40.21) behind Yale (6:36.1) and Brown (6:39.9) to collect a spot in its grand final.
Princeton's 1V led throughout its heat and crossed the line first at 6:07.3. Brown was second (6:11.2) while Harvard also nabbed a third place finish spot (6:18.5).
Princeton's 2V picked up an open water victory at 6:18.7, over eight seconds in front of Dartmouth (6:27.0) and 9.5 seconds ahead of Harvard (6:28.3) in its heat.
The Tigers' varsity four also won its heat (7:01.6), almost four seconds in front of Dartmouth (7:05.6) and Harvard (7:11.5).
Princeton's varsity four C rows for gold at 8 a.m. with the varsity four B following at 8:10 a.m. on Sunday.
"I'm very happy for our boats that qualified for their respective grand finals," said head coach Lori Dauphiny. "We will have work to do to accomplish what we want, but we're excited for tomorrow's racing."
The winner of the Varsity Eight Grand Final will be crowned the Ivy League Champion and will be awarded the Ivy League Champion Trophy. The Team Trophy will be presented to the team with the highest point total across all boats. The League's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Championship will be awarded to the team with the most points across the three NCAA boats (V8, 2V8 and V4).
